It’s finally here. After months of keeping his joints lubed with castrol, and batteries primed with the power of the actual sun, Robo-Zoon is ready to strut his stuff in the brand new stop-motion animated video for Zoon van snooK’s amazing album launch track Cuckoo on Mush Records.
To celebrate the imminent posting of my new music video for Zoon van snooK’s excellent debut single release ‘Cuckoo’ on Mush Records , I though it about time to start ‘leaking’ materials used in the development of the video. Here’s a concept illustration that I did early on, a still taken from the actual video and at the very bottom, a shot taken at 7am after the all-nighter shoot, with us looking spent, but very accomplished. Check back here really soon for the video.
A couple of years back, I had the great pleasure to work with Cyrus Sharhad aka electronic musician Hiatus on making a surreal music video for his track ‘Nobody’ from the then EP. The full LP is out 31st October and to celebrate this we’ve re posted the video, complete with re-mastered audio goodness. The video is still as fresh and random as it always was. If you’re ready for something a little different, click below to watch. Lovely.
The ‘Nobody’ EP is available to buy NOW from iTunes for £3.95. Click here The full LP is out 31st October, click here for more details.
The Zoon van snooK stop motion/ timelapse music video I directed a few of weeks back for the ‘Cuckoo’ single, is now complete and has been sent too the label Mush Records for publishing.
The all-nighter shoot was long and tiring, especially for Zoon in the RoboSuit and image wizard Alex Turner snapping crazy with the DSLR all night. We’re REALLY pleased with how it’s turned out.
Heres an animation that I made a couple of years back with a ‘Robo’ character that had been working its way round my head for some time. Back then I was planning on developing the idea as an animation (which may well still happen). The video was picked up by felt pen makers Sharpie and posted on their blog , you can see the posting here , thanks Sharpie!!
Hearing Al Snook’s ‘Cuckoo’ track totally blew me away and shifted my idea into what became my latest video. For a peek into the creative flow have a peek below:

Sony PS3’s FirstPlay HD video magazine is doing very well indeed. Here’s the link to one of the archive videos that I filmed and edited which has now been uploaded to youtube. I got to travel to Stockholm to interview the games developers at EA DICE studios. Great country.
The more recent stuff is available only via FirstPlay’s which is a cutting edge weekly interactive HD video magazine. More archive videos available here- FirstPlay Youtube
The Future Publishing/ Sony PS3 HD video project that I’ve been working as video editor on for the last 12 months was officially announced this morning.
The High Definition digital ‘magazine’ will be a weekly download via the PlayStation Store direct to PS3 console. As well as eye blistering editorialised HD video, each issue will offer voiced screenshot galleries, user generated content and exclusive downloads. It’s been described as a hybrid of tv and magazine journalism. We absolutely love putting the content together and are sure it will be well received.

Just returned from a beautiful but rather soggy (read drenched) scootle round the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Very inspiring… hope to incorporate some of these into an edit soon.
’small paul: a very short story’ has reared it’s head up once again demanding to be told.. see it here first, very soon.
