The Future Publishing/ Sony PS3 HD video project that I’ve been working as video editor on for the last 12 months was officially announced this morning.
The High Definition digital ‘magazine’ will be a weekly download via the PlayStation Store direct to PS3 console. As well as eye blistering editorialised HD video, each issue will offer voiced screenshot galleries, user generated content and exclusive downloads. It’s been described as a hybrid of tv and magazine journalism. We absolutely love putting the content together and are sure it will be well received.
Have a visit here to see the official launch promo which I worked on and to find out more via a walkthrough video.
I recently went back through footage I filmed while on a road trip across California with Jo, back last October.. Here’s the first footage I’ve uploaded. Timelapse roadtrip… Oosa style.
Music is ‘Reverberation’ by Fred MoTh Fred MoTh
Enjoy..
Just returned from a beautiful but rather soggy (read drenched) scootle round the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Very inspiring… hope to incorporate some of these into an edit soon.
’small paul: a very short story’ has reared it’s head up once again demanding to be told.. see it here first, very soon.
It’s been a few weeks now since I last updated the site. I’ve been really busy lately in my new position as video editor for magazine publisher Future Publishing. More on that before too long..
Filmed using ONE reel of super8 film (approx 3 min 30), no editing. This video was filmed in ONE continuous 12 hour ‘take’, filmed timelapse/ stop motion from sunrise to sunset, 6am to 6pm, March 2008
It’s been a while in the coming so lap it up, slurp it down and enjoy the craziness that is ‘That Just About Does It’. The video was filmed on HD video using a miniature ’set’ about the size of a shoe box.
Geesh.. that was a cold snap. Thankfully it appears that Spring may finally be lurking just around the corner…
Having braved the elements on a very long and cold day back in March last year to film ‘the time machine’ timelapse super8 video, it’s rewarding to see the reception that it’s been getting at festivals and screenings around the world.
From Monday 24th Feb ‘09, the film will be taking centre stage at the Portable Film Festival stop-motion showcase. Be sure to check it out by clicking the link/ image. From here you will be able to view and download to a variety of ‘Portable’ formats such as ipod, PSP, iphone etc.
I’m making the last few tweaks to my new animated music video for ‘Zoon van snooK’ which will be live online in the next couple of days. In the mean time be sure to have a listen to Zoon’s fantastic remix for the new ‘Fujiya & Miyagi’ single. Click here to listen.
My Zoon Van Snook video is nearing completion and should be online within the next few weeks and we’re very pleased with the way it’s headed. It’s totally different from anything that I’ve done before!
Here’s a still I took while in California, some people will do anything for a tan.
It’s been a few weeks since the last posting, but that’s not to say that I haven’t beem busy. Visits to Mexico and California last month were immensly inspiring and absolutely stocked up the vh-archive of footage to be working with. Expect some to sneak it’s way into my latest music video project for Bristolian electronic wizard of glitch Zoon Van Snook.
Kristy Thomley from the excellent two if by see creative bloq has written some very kind words about the the time machine video. Don’t simply take my word for it.. have a look for yourself here. It’s a great blog that’s updated regularly.
I’ve also recently found out that the time machine video has been selected to screen at HDfest.com’s January music video festival in L.A. Rory and I had better start saving pennies for the plane..
Many thanks to Marisa Cohen for all the support from HDfest.
Thanks to everyone who viewed and reviewed ‘the time machine’ timelapse video to Rory Nunn’s beautiful track ‘time to be taken’. The video has had a huge amount of views and received many accolades. Highly influential US music video news site ‘Shots Ring Out’ rated it ‘2nd best’ video of all of August ‘08
And pioneering hdfest.com have just hosted it on their site as ‘video of the week’ - great news all round. You can see the video in a large screen quicktime player courtesy of HDfest.com by clicking this link and you can download it here.
The video was also screened as part of the straight8 ‘artier’ selection at Cafe 1001 on Brick Lane, London. Be sure to check out all of their sites.
Here’s a short timelapse video of an illustration I’ve been working on. It’s a concept sketch for a potential future animation. ‘the adventures of robo-tron’ or something similar.
Just a bit of fun a present, should evolve into something with motion. I’m hoping that Dan Benson will pen the words.
