My straight8 super8 competition entry ‘The Time Machine’ with

Rory Nunn was premiered for the first time last evening, Monday 28th July at the Curzon Mayfair. I wasn’t actually able to make the screening so I have still yet to actually see the film! I’m reliably told that it looked great, film should be with me within a couple of days.. I’ll post it here as soon as it’s digitised. Here’s a sneek sample of what the video should look like. Filmed timelapse of the timelapse shoot behind the scenes on my video camera.
Music ‘time to be taken’ by Rory Nunn .
Starring: Rory with guitar and Harry Livingstone as the gorilla..Enjoy..

BBC showreels.. Aerials, Tribes & Faster, Higher, Stronger

Thursday, July 3, 2008

These are 3 showreels that I’ve recently edited for BBC Motion Gallery:

‘Faster, Higher, Stronger’

The brief was to create a fast, punchy showreel to illustrate the stunning catalogue of ‘Olympics like’ sports footage that the BBC Motion Gallery has available for license. Here’s what I came up with.
Music by Martin Enger - screen3

‘Aerials’

For the Aerials reel we needed something musically fresh, original and beat driven, as ever Martin Enger - screen3 stepped up to the plate and delivered a classic track.

‘Tribes’

I edited this showreel from clip material from series 1 of BBC’s ‘Bruce Parry - Tribe’. It was a really inspiring series which allowed real creative articulation. Musically for this reel, we wanted something that would reflect the global nature of the tribes involved without cheapening it with the use of artificial sounding library music..
You wouldn’t promote your latest music track on broken speakers would you.. The band Ghanaian roots band ‘Bakudan’ provided this truly incredible track.

All footage from these showreels belongs to and is available to license from BBC Motion Gallery and/ or it’s respective archive representations.
